1. How Biko Assists Students & the Business Model Behind It
1
Purpose
Biko exists to solve the youth unemployment and skills gap challenge in Africa by turning students and young people into high-performing digital professionals while giving them paid, real-world experience inside a structured, AI-powered environment.
2
Student Benefits
Workplace Readiness: Students gain hands-on experience on real business tasks from SMEs and startups across the continent.
AI Mentorship & Automation: The Biko platform includes an AI assistant that trains and tracks students, offering personalised productivity tips and performance feedback using machine learning.
Task & Project Delivery: Students complete tasks like graphic design, automation setup, marketing strategy, web design, and more — supported by Biko's operational infrastructure.
Earnings & Growth: Students earn stipends or learnership payments and receive performance-based incentives and real client feedback.
3
Business Model for Students
Students join Biko under our Upskilling & Work Experience Programme, funded by SETAs, government grants, university programs, or private sector bursaries.
Through partnerships (e.g., NetCampus, CPUT BIIC), students are provided with certification pathways and mentorship while working on live SME projects inside the Biko platform.
Our revenue from student-focused partners helps fund the platform, pay stipends, and invest in the learning journey.
2. How Biko Assists Small Businesses & the Business Model Behind It
